Cell Phone Review Lg Xenon Gr500
The LG Xenon GR500 is an magnificent, light cell phone with a sleek QWERTY keyboard. Targeted to texting fans, the LG Xenon GR500 is also a touch-screen phone. It is also larger in size like the RAZR cell phone. This attractive cell phone also holds ample music, video and offers loads of web browsing power. The low price of $99 with purchase of a contract (plus mail-in rebate) makes the LG Xenon GR500 attractive to anyone wanting a compact cell phone for messaging. We have made it our new Editors Choice for a feature phone on AT&T Buzz up! on Yahoo.
At a mere 3.8 ounces and 4.2- by-2.1-by.06(HWD) inches, the LG Xenon GR500 is particularly small for a cell phone a with horizontal slider. The test cell phone was a deep red in color with chrome accents on the side. There are also black and blue models as well. I had expected a spacious keyboard on the LG Xenon GR500 but found the QWERTY keyboard felt somewhat congested. Both because of the little keys, and the extra function keys on both sides of the keyboard. Over time, typing on the cell phone was quicker and I found the keys tactile.
The LG Xenon GR500 cell phone included many applications like instant messaging with connections to AIM, Windows Live and Yahoo accounts. Unfortunately AIM only showed my buddies who were also mobile. The Java-based mobile email client connects to AIM, AOL, Yahoo and Windows Live Hotmail and about six other common ISPs. It does not connect to Gmail. The LG Xenon GR500 has a Media Net Web with a handy search function, multiple zoom levels which you can expend in full screen mode. The touch mask was sometimes unresponsive and zooming was difficult. Loading sites on the cell phone was extremely slow however, they looked good and page elements aligned properly when finally loaded. WAP sites displayed well for a feature phone and the GPS radio also connects with AT&T’s optional TeleNav-powered Navigator service offering voice-enabled, explicit instructions. The cost for this optional cell phone feature is $9.99.
Also included with the LG Xenon GR500 is a 2.0 megapixel camera. It recorded 320-by-240 outdoor videos clear but videos taken inside were jerky and flickering. The LED flash tended to mar any photos, upsetting the contrast and lit areas appeared extremely brilliant.
Along with 100 GB of memory, the LG Xenon GR500 utilizes a 16GB MicroSD card in a slot located on the side of the cell phone. My 16 GB ScanDisk card worked just as well but the both cards were difficult to remove.
The LG Xenon GR500 is an affordable slider phone with QWERTY keyboard for just $99. The full keyboard is perfect for any texting fanatic. This touch camouflage cell phone includes a web browser, instant messaging and email that connects to Yahoo, Windows Live and more.
